Responsibilities:

• Responsible for leading new designs of multi-mode and single-mode optical engines/modules for both multi through optical simulation, theoretical analysis, and prototyping support
• Perform ZEMAX Physical Optics Propagation (POP) modeling and optimization for Laser Gaussian beam and coupling
• Work closely with the advanced development team on New Products Introduction (NPI) to understand optical performance requirements and design trade-spaces
• Perform bench-top optics setup and alignment for laser and fiber optical system to confirm simulation results
• Develop NPI optical modules, identify the root cause of failure modes, and support the optical engineering team to drive corrective actions

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in an Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
• Experience with optical performance characterizations (i.e. PDL, bandwidth, insertion loss)
• Experience in telecommunication or Datacom industry and products
• Hands-on laboratory experience in optical systems alignment and prototyping
• Proficiency in optical simulations software ZEMAX
