Responsibilities:
- Coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the assigned facility (or facilities).
- Provides integral communication with the Business Unit team to enable planning, troubleshooting, and execution of key initiatives
- Exercises functional authority over personnel that work on Capital projects, such as Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, and outside contractors.
- Responsible for the management of the Capex process and project outcomes of the plant team.
- Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, and project management.
- Makes recommendations in the manufacturing processes for improvements in efficiency, quality and cost-reduction.
- Has extensive knowledge of Safety standards (internal, external and governmental). Incorporates this knowledge flawlessly into CAPEX projects. supports HSE CAPEX initiatives, promoted locally, regionally and globally.
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment, promoting sustainability, and maximizing safety and wellbeing of our employees.
- Has extensive knowledge of Environmental standards (internal, external and governmental). Incorporates this knowledge flawlessly into CAPEX projects. Leads and supports Climate Action / Environmental Management
- System CAPEX initiatives, promoted locally, regionally and globally.
- Prepares and presents plans to stakeholders and coordinates deployment.
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
- Designs, develops, sources and tests tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing improvements.
- Coordinates the launch of new/revised manufacturing upgrades including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
- Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project.
- Plans and implements assigned engineering projects including defining the project scope, project activities, equipment specification, contractor requirements as well as plant and customer requirements.
- Maintains interface with Business Unit and Supply Chain Leadership (Manufacturing Director/Supply Chain Director / VP of Supply Chain) to provide project updates and ensures customer needs are met.
- Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Responsible for project forecasting and spending.
- Documents all aspects of projects such as directing outside contractors, project integration into the plant operation, technical information, and training.
- Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers.
- Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
- Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, sustainability, ergonomics, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Directs integration of technical activities and products.
- Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Participates in special projects, other duties or tasks that may be assigned as required.
- Ensures the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment.
- Ensures safety, quality, legality, and authenticity of products in accordance with regulations and standards, as this role dictates.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related fields like Mechatronic Engineering is required.
- Minimum 15 to 20 years hands on, Engineering Project Management and execution experience required.
- Working experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company is preferred
- Working knowledge in site categories (dry mixes, soups/bases, flavor systems, sauces and dressings, as applicable to the site) processes as well as prior experience with building expansions for a food process environment is strongly preferred.
- Having a background working in a Lean Manufacturing culture / environment is required
- Having TPM - Early Management / Initiative & Innovation Management Pillar leadership background is highly preferred
- Fluent in English and Thai
- Minimum travel, about 10% of the travel time is required
