Responsibilities:

  • Manage the periodic renewal of Company’s operational licenses and approvals in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide guidance to the business on consumer law issues and resolving disputes including reviewing marketing collateral and member complaints.
  • Research all legislation affecting Company and ensure that relevant departments are informed of new or proposed legislation and projects manage any implementation changes required to achieve compliance. It is envisaged that this role will manage all aspects of the Thailand data protection legislation compliance when that legislation is in force.
  • Undertake regular compliance audits.
  • Provide advice and manage matters briefed to external lawyers, within budget.
  • Safeguard original documentation and licenses.
  • Maintain and update licensing renewal schedules and documents.
  • Ensure that the Thailand business is operating in accordance with relevant Thai laws and best practice, while ensuring compliance with Company group (based in the UK) policies and requirements such as the UK Bribery Act as directed by the Head of Legal.

Qualifications:

  • You have a legal degree +7 years of relevant compliance experience and are registered as a solicitor.
  • Your English is excellent – both written and spoken as your manager is foreigner.
  • You have aligned experience. You know what it’s like to work with a high profile consumer brand, have significant in-house experience and a solid background in compliance and consumer law. You may also have received training with a leading law firm. A+ for you.
  • You are people-focused. You’re patient, level-headed and cool under pressure. Providing high quality legal advice that results in favorable outcomes makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
  • You are self-assured. You listen intently. You write eloquently. Your communications are direct, considered and clear and you’re authentic when you express yourself. You have superior drafting skills. People trust your judgement.
