Report to
Director, Demand Planning & SIOP – East Asia Japan


  • Lead & drive improvement to the demand forecast accuracy of a group of Business Units / Line of Business (either at Country / Region / Both) in East Asia. Influence the supply situation towards higher improving inventory turns while ensuring maximum levels of customer service.
  • Animate the monthly collaborative sales forecast process (CSF) – ie: a agreed upon consensus plan for a selected product portfolio for a country / zone and to ensure the forecast accuracy targets are achieved.
  • Conduct regular meeting with Commercial (Sales / Marketing) & Product (BU/LOB) teams to gather and analyze all available information to create the best possible forecast (historical sales, phase in/phase out, cannibalization, causal factor, market trends, seasonality, promotions, special events inventory levels, price changes, lead-time etc..)
  • Make recommended adjustments to forecast and inventory targets (input : forecast accuracy, forecast value–add, unhealthy stock level, customers OTDC) based on changes in demand and market trends
  • Proactively facilitating, re-engineering, best practices & consensus between functional experts (Demand Planning, Supply Planning,  Sales & Marketing, Logistics and Finance)
  • DRP planning and supplier SIOP governance
  • Participate actively in projects teams, working on initiatives to improve forecast accuracy
  • May be required to facilitates as SIOP leaders for specific Line of Business
  • Complete relevant reports (weekly & monthly ) as and when directed


  • Strong background in Demand planning & Forecasting.  Working knowledge of IBF (Integrated Business Forecasting), S&Ops (Sales & Operations Planning)
  • Experience using SAP &/or Kinaxis sale forecast (preferred) or other ERP statistical software packages
  • Strong analytical abilities /High level of data analytics skills – forecast modeling 
  • Good communication and Team building skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functionally with strong collaborative skills in getting consensus among teams in mitigating demand gaps
  • 8+ years related experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a commercial or logistics (Business, engineering or related field)
