A Leading International Pharmaceutical Company
Responsibilities :
The Medical Advisor will be responsible for a given disease area (pharma/vaccine), emphasizing on scientific and medical promotion of related products through KOL support & development. The Medical Advisor will be responsible to oversee clinical trial and support commercial team in terms of training and crafting strategy by means of medico-marketing.
- Serve as an expert on a disease area, and support clinical trials and scientific activities.
- Assemble and manage key opinion leader advisory groups for each product. The advisory group’s role will be to review the product and suggest core product attributes; review the choice of comparators for clinical trials; suggest any disease relevant health status questionnaires to incorporate into clinical trials so that good cost data is obtained in local populations to support later cost arguments; discuss where the product fits into the management of patients’ diseases; suggest synergies with other company products; and discuss leading developments in the field. Information gained during these sessions is then summarized and made available to marketing and R&D functions.
- Act as a medical resource to the company as a whole and particularly to the clinical research department (protocol and CRF writing, adverse events, discussions with investigators, internal meetings).
- To have responsibility for nominated therapeutic areas and assume overall management of the clinical trials within these areas.
- To be recognized as a company expert in the nominated therapeutic areas and provide input into global product development teams.
- Represent the company via presentations to groups of experts, societies, regulatory bodies and at international meetings.
- Establish ongoing liaison with key opinion leaders, government officials, senior TGA staff and healthcare organizations to ensure that significant developments in the field are identified and monitored.
- Provide medical expertise in the review of adverse experiences and discuss patient management issues with investigators.
- To facilitate the close liaison between Australian research institutes and universities and the company by presentations, visits and the review and on-going management of nominated preclinical projects.
- To provide ongoing medical and product training to field sales and marketing.
Qualifications:
- The applicant must possess a Medical Degree; a specialist (board of medicine) is a plus.
- At least 3 years of medical treatment experience.
- Able to travel up-country or abroad from time to time.
- Good command of English is a must.
- Mature, strong interpersonal skill and project management skill.
