Public Affairs Manager
Our Client
One Large Global Leader in Premium Spirits and Wine Company

Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory and alcohol policy (advocacy work)
 Regulatory
o Monitor all regulatory developments (e.g. domestic taxation and pricing policies, import procedures and certification of products, labeling, etc.) which may affect the smooth operation of company.
o Advocate improvements to Thailand’s current regulatory framework on wines and spirits and seek to avoid any negative regulatory developments and defend competitive situation.
o Monitor technical compliance of products (e.g. additives, etc.) and advocate corrective measures whenever needed.
o Coordinate with all functions to advise and provide support on regulatory issues which may occur in the day to day business operations, particularly whether they involve national or local authorities.
 Alcohol policy
o Closely monitor the alcohol policy environment in Thailand and any measures which may affect business operations.
o Elaborate a strategic vision of the alcohol policy challenges.
 Coordination and advocacy
o Manage proactively relations with all authorities and key stakeholders (e.g. Government Departments such as Ministry of Health, Ministry of Commerce, etc.)
o Coordinate and work proactively towards alignment with other industry players.
o Exercise effective leadership in industry organization.
2. Legal
 Manage effectively compliance with all relevant national and local laws and regulations as well as with the Group policies, and report pro-actively any issue which may arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law is a strong asset, alternatively in Public Affairs, Social Sciences or other relevant fields
  • Minimum 10 years relevant professional experience in public affairs
  • Knowledge of alcohol industry or experience related to alcoholic beverages is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of the Thai legislative process
  • An existing network of government and relevant authorities relationship, as well as embassies, trade organizations and private sector
  • Excellent command of English.
  • Good IT skills
