Responsibilities

  • Primary Function – To plan, organize and direct a wide range of training activities for a wide range of employee’s in Transportation. Conduct and supervise training and develop programs for employees to improve & maintain safety standards, Improve employee’s skills, and build morale.
  • Train and evaluate all prospective drivers and monitors, and maintain all records on current drivers.
  • Work with Transportation hiring new Employees.
  • Coordinate and evaluate with the Transportation site’s behind-the-wheel truck driver training program.
  • Conduct driving performance evaluations on drivers and delegated behind-the-wheel trainers and drivers and maintain driving performance records.
  • Post-accident behind-the-wheel re-training.
  • Maintain updated driver training manuals and material related to passenger transportation.
  • Network with local instructor groups to exchange information related to passenger transportation safety and training.
  • Design and implement safety meetings under direction of Transportation.
  • Assist with yearly truck inspection and dispatcher in maintaining radio communication with corporation vehicles, in the absence of the dispatcher, dispatch daily routes.
  • Working knowledge of GPS system
  • Assist with maintaining field trip assignments.
  • Maintain record system for vehicles and vehicle records in a safe at administrative center.
  • Attend pertinent workshops and training sessions.
  • Drive routes/field trips as needed. And perform all other duties assigned by the Transportation.

Qualifications

  • High school or diploma required; college degree preferred
  • Five years trailer over-the-road driving experience
  • Knowledge of current land transportation law or regulations.
  • Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) effective teaching concepts
  • Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
